Thomas Burgess of Little Woolton - Yeoman and John Tennant of Childwall
Husbandman came before us Henry Winstanley Esq., Mayor of the Borough and Corporation of Liverpool and John Goodwin Esq., two of His Majesties Justice of the Peace and acknowledged themselves to owe to our Sovereign Lord the King the sum of Ten Pounds a piece to be levied on their several lands and tenements goods and chattels for the use of the said Lord the King…

Taken and acknowledged at West Derby in the County aforesaid.

The Condition of the above Recognizance is such that if David Edwardson of Little Woolton - Victualler do and shall keep an orderly Alehouse in the house where he now dweleth for the term of one whole year from the 29th day of September instant and shall not permit or suffer any unlawful games to be used or any disorders to be committed, but shall maintain and keep in good order and government in the same then this Recognizance to be void or else remain in full force.
