NEWS FROM THE GATEACRE SOCIETY (Nov.2012):

LEAVES ON
THE BROW

Once again autumn has arrived - and once again it seems the City Council is surprised by the fact that the trees in Gateacre are shedding their leaves. Every year we have to ask repeatedly for the leaves to be removed from local pavements - in Belle Vale Road, Halewood Road, and especially Gateacre Brow where the slope down from the bus stops to the village and the doctors' surgery creates a real hazard. The steady flow of pedestrians rapidly turns the fallen leaves to a slippery mess, while pavement parking makes clearance difficult. Members can help by reporting accumulations of leaves to the special Liverpool Direct
phone line:
0151 233 3001

NEWS UPDATE, 27th NOVEMBER 2012:
Following further complaints, and intervention from Councillor Barbara Mace,
the leaves on Gateacre Brow were cleared on 23rd November.
