A SUMMER COACH TRIP TO HEBDEN BRIDGE:
Saturday 25th July

Our friends The Wavertree Society have arranged a coach trip to Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire. Members of the Gateacre Society are invited to book seats, and there will be a pickup point in Gateacre (Black Bull, 8.45am) as well as in Wavertree (Lake Road, 9.00am). We shall be home by 6.30pm.


Hebden Bridge - recently described as "the coolest, quirkiest, most creative place in Britain" - is an old mill town renowned for its range of independent shops, galleries, eating places and 'alternative' lifestyles. For tickets (£15 a head, payable in advance) please contact Mike Chitty

'SCAM ALERT' TALK IN GATEACRE CHAPEL
Thursday 18th June, 1pm

The Chapel has asked us to publicise a meeting hosted by Home Instead (Liverpool South) at which the different types of on- and off-line scams will be discussed, and advice will be given on how to avoid them. To book a place please phone Vicky on 0151 428 2609.

HERITAGE OPEN DAY
ADVANCE NOTICE
Saturday 12th September

Nationally, Heritage Open Days this year extend from 10th-13th September, but in Gateacre and Woolton we anticipate that venues will opt to open on Saturday 12th. If you are the owner or custodian of a historic building that could be opened to the public on that day, please let us know.
