Councillor Janet Kent has written as follows, to draw the attention of Gateacre Society members to the Planning Application submitted for this extensive corner site:

"The scheme proposes the demolition of all the existing buildings, and the erection of a large supermarket store with associated parking for 100 vehicles. Members may wish to look at the full details on the Council's website: the reference number is 15O/1445 (and please note that the 'O' is a letter, not a number!). It is an "Outline" application to test the views of the Council on this important site.

"My colleague, Councillor Glare, has initiated the Asset of Community Value (aka 'ACV') process which we hope will give us breathing space.  Meanwhile, I will be taking our representations to the planners on behalf of the local residents of Belle Vale Ward.
