The nineteenth century was, for the privileged, an age of opulence. Liverpool was a city of trade - and Beaconsfield Road in Woolton was a favoured location for wealthy merchants to build grand country mansions. Sadly, many of these no longer exist, but this talk will explore the history of some of the demolished houses as well as those that can still be seen today.
