THE DIAMOND JUBILEE
Our congratulations go to the Friends of Gateacre for organising such a successful celebration day on 5th June. Fears of a wash-out led to some of the activities being moved indoors, but the Village Green was bustling and, in the event, the rain held off.
Our thanks go to all those who visited the Gateacre Society stall and bought our 'Belle Vale Signpost' leaflet in aid of the restoration appeal. We are pleased to say that the City Council has now raised all the necessary funding, and we look forward to the signpost (originally erected to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee) being put back in place.
