THE FALSTAFF SITE
The City Council has yet to make a decision on the planning application submitted in March 2013 (ref. 13F/0625). We have recently been notified that the plans have been amended, and the current proposal is for 12 detached houses. We have reiterated our view that no more than 11 houses should be permitted, which would allow a green strip to be left along the boundary of the site, and that they should not 'turn their backs' onto Gateacre Park Drive.

GATEACRE COMP SITE, GRANGE LANE

After many months of waiting, we have been told that the results of the site investigations have now been analysed, and the City Council will shortly be deciding what to do with the land. The investigations - by Regeneration Liverpool - involved an initial site survey (including test bore holes) followed by a six-month period of monitoring to assess ground conditions within the landfill element on the Cuckoo Lane side of the site. The Council officers' conclusion is that "subject to remediation, the site is capable of being developed". We have been assured that there will be consultation before any redevelopment plans are finalised. We have always argued that a proper Masterplan is needed, and that - in recognition of the land's planning status as Green Space - this should include a significant recreational component.
