Our next talk will take place on 21st April 2024 with Alan David Wilson who will be both talking about the inhabitants and history of Woolton Tower(s) in Woolton Park.
Quietly nestled in a cul-de-sac on Woolton Park, Woolton Tower has watched the world go by since the 1850s. Woolton Tower is one of the few Victorian Mansions found in the Woolton Park area that have survived to this day. Once surrounded by countryside, the mansion was the rural retreat for a number of high class citizens of Liverpool.
The talk will include photos both past and present, information on inhabitants of the house and lodge, including after its division in the 1950s, and historically important features, including links to its mysterious twin building in Ormskirk!
Alan’s book on Woolton Tower will be available to download from our website after the talk, or we can produce printed ringbound copies for £10 on request.
